Mantra : an ultimate Remedy

Mantra is a ultimate remedy for material or spiritual difficulties. A Mantra is a combination of sacred syllables which forms a nucleus of spiritual energy. This serves as a magnet to attract or a lens to focus spiritual vibrations. According to the Upanishads, the ancient scriptues of India, the original abode of the Mantra was the Parma Akasha or primeval ether, the eternal and immutable substratum of the universe, out of which, in the uttering of the primal sound Vach, the universe itself was created.

The root 'man' in the word Mantra means in Sanskrit "to think", 'tra' comes from 'trai', meaning "to protect or free from the bondage of Samsara or the phenomenal world". So 'Mantra' means "the thought that liberates and protects".

Mantra Yoga is one of the manifold yogas, of which there are about forty, all interwoven like threads of a cloth. The main four are: Bhatki yoga, Karma Yoga, Jnana Yoga and Raja Yoga. The chanting of a mantra is called Mantra Yoga. All other forms of repeating the mantra are called Japa Yoga. When the Mantra is spoken aloud, it is known as Vaikhari Japa; when whispered or hummed it is Upamsu Japa; when the repetition is mental it is called Manasika Japa; written Mantra is called Likhita Japa.

The Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra

Allow yourself to be immersed in the peaceful vibrations of the Gayatri Mantra. The Gayatri Mantra is the oldest known mantra in existence. It originates from the Rig-Veda, a sacred text of India dating back almost 5,000 years. This mantra produces a pure and rhythmical vibration which saturates the consciousness with peace and calm. The state of relaxation produced by this mantra enables us to discover a vast inner reservoir of creativity and intuition.

The Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra

Experience the power and majesty of the Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra. This is the mantra of Lord Shiva - the force behind all transformation and growth. The Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra helps release one's consciousness from the restraints of any limiting patterns of thought and behavior. It sets the stage for greater freedom of self-expression.
Specifically, this mantra is recited when we need strength to meet a challenge, attain a goal or overcome any blockage which may be interfering with our well-being.

Terminology & its meaning.....

Aum : Aum is a prefix to many mantras. It represents the energy at the Ajna chakra at the brow center, where the feminine and masculine currents become joined and consciousness becomes unitary and holistic.

Eim (aim) : Eim (aim) is a seed sound for the feminine principle known as Saraswati. This principle governs spiritual knowledge as well as the material pursuits of education, science, art, music, and spiritual discipline.

Hreem : Hreem is a seed sound for "mahamaya" or the veil of creation. It is said that meditation on this seed sound will result in the mediators ultimately being shown the universe "as it is" and not as we see it currently. That is because reality as we see it is really an "agreement" among all of us which is passed on from generation to generation.

Babies, if they could talk, would speak of the universe in quite a different way. They ultimately learn what humanity's "agreement" is and start to function in the world.

Shreem : Shreem is the seed sound for the principle of abundance. This covers the abundance of food, friends, family, health and a myriad other things. Prosperity is, of course, included.

Kleem : Kleem is a seed with several meanings. In the present context, it is the principle of attraction. In this mantra, it is attracting the fruit of the other principles to speed the process of mantra meditation.

Saum : Saum is a couple of things. It is a spiritual principle which operates through one of the petals in the Ajna chakra. It is also a shakti activating sound.

Sat : Truth

Chid : Mind stuff

Ekam :One, without a second

Brahma : This entire cosmos, with all of its contents, sometimes also called Brahman, the state of conscious existence which is one with everything.
